The !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Evora S is a car that doesn't receive enough attention. Weighing 3,100 lbs with a 345 horsepower supercharged V6 engine supplied by Toyota, this car has the grunt to keep with with any !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Cayman and many Porsche 911s. And while both Porsche's provide a sporting ride, the Lotus takes sport driving to the next level. The expertly tuned chassis transmits any undulation of the road through the steering wheel. It's light footed, and agile direction changes make it a joy to drive on back roads.

Unlike the more track minded !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! the Evora and Evora S are cars meant to be more road minded - less track work, more brisk Sunday drives. It's optional two rear seats, included in the car listed !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! mean that you might just be able to cram the kids in the back too. If nothing else, it's an option that could convince your S.O. that this car is almost sort of practical.

The Evora S promises a dependable engine, and a consistently thrilling and engaging driving experience even at normal road speeds. It's all the car anyone could ever reasonably need, with a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of about 170 mph.

The downside to buying a Lotus is that you miss out on the quality and luxurious feel available from competing cars like the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , the Audi TT S, and the BMW 1M. Go on any Lotus forum and you'll quickly realize that buying a Lotus means sacrificing some things one could otherwise reasonably expect from a European sports car.

Body panels not fitting properly, or even cracking have been reported. Many owners have complained that their Pioneer GPS unit malfunctions, and that the interior makes squeaking and rattling sounds at highway speeds. But these are the sacrifices some driving enthusiasts make willingly to enjoy the dynamism of the Evora S. That should tell you something about how good this car's chassis is, and for $64,949 with 3,093 miles, a sexy black !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Just be prepared for a few minor frustrations in between corner carving.

It's a neat car to be sure, but at the price almost anything else is better. Build quality is somewhere between not-good and poor, and the feel is not lux at all. Source: I recently looked at one for my new sports car, and dismissed it almost immediately.

Perhaps the best part about this car distinguishing it from the competitors is it looks special. Rarity adds value.

How did it drive comparable to the other cars, and what were the cars you were comparing it to? Just curious.

That's a terrific point. Porsches have become pretty common with the aggressive model expansion.

I saw one at C&C this past weekend. is this bigger or about the same size as an elise?

I hated the visibility which made it almost impossible to appreciate any of the driving dynamics. I drove the 1M, Cayman, M3 and S5 around the same time, although I drive a lot of cars.

The Evora is a considerably heavier car than the Elise, I think the Evora is a little over a 1,000 lbs heavier.

Yeah, I read that rear window visibility was a huge issue even with the backup camera - apparently the camera eye wasn't wide enough either. What did you end up going with?

The Lotus/Lambo/Aston dealer (yes, all 3 one place) has several of these used Evoras on their lot. Wow do they look tatty for being 1 or 2 year old cars! The leather on the dashboard and instrument binnacle on every example was splitting. I would never consider one of these as in person they have kit car build quality. At $64K the car featured in the post is a total joke - I'd stick with the German alternatives.

The thing that makes the Lotus interesting is that in terms of pure driver enjoyment I think it outranks its German competitors, though that may not be enough to rationalize buying a car that has significantly lower build quality.

From what I've seen the car listed looks like it's in actually pretty good condition, though the thing is it probably won't stay that way for long.
